The price of movies has become ridiculous, but I still love a good movie. It cost almost as much to go see it in theaters as it does to buy the movie. Then when it comes to my kids, I have to see the movie first, then again with them. This adds up. So to stay on budget, I try renting in the middle of the store (I have already seen these at some point). Older movies are half of the cost of a new release if not more. Even if some of the classics are old news to us, our kids have not seen them and we may underestimate what entertains them. My daughter loves older shows and movies that have been around since even before I was born. And even more importantly they are more wholesome, if you can say that about television at all. We don’t have to explain things that our children should not be exposed to at such early ages. You will even enjoy watching your children watch these movies you once loved and seeing their joy.

I just added your link to the carnival.
We just went to the movies this weekend and it just about killed me to spend so much. It was $20 for both of us. Then we bought a $4.50 soda. We didn’t have enough money left over for a snack.
My kids want to see Kung Fu Panda, but they are going to have to wait until it at least comes to the cheaper movies. Thanks for participating!

They say at the grocery store, to eat well, you should only shop on the outer ring of the store. Thanks for the tip at the movie store, I’ll stay to the inside circle and save some $$!

Movie prices are crazy. I have 4 kid’s we only go about every other year. Some are older now and don’t want to go with us anymore but still it adds up. Have you watched the movie with John Candy, The Great Outdoors? My kid’s have loved that movie forever. We have it on DVD and watch it every couple of months.
